Random Project - Any Help Is Appreciated. :-) Nov. 8th, 2008 @ 01:28 am
First off, thank you mod for letting me post this... :-)

I'm making this traveling notebook for my son, and one for my brother. I'm pretty much trying to find, one or a few people from each of the 50 states for this notebook (well, both notebooks). They both travel together and will be passed on to someone else in the USA so postage costs shouldn't be much when posting out again. What I'm looking at doing is having everyone put a state map postcard, or a descriptive postcard from their state - so it has the silhouette of the state with the state bird, flower, something like that... write about your state, what you like about the state, what your life is like... add photos, and just plain be creative with the books... when you've put in your entry and your happy with it - I'll give you the next address which will probably be in a neighboring state and you send it onto the next "host". You can write the same in both of the books... that's not a problem at all... :-) I've been rounding up people for the books, but they've just been sent out today to Washington (from Australia)....

So yeah, if anyone would like to help that'd be great and contact me by commenting here, email at sara.ringham@gmail.com or just message me on here and we'll go from there... if you have any questions let me know as well - it's after midnight so I'm sure I've missed out on something... thanks for helping anyone that is interested in helping me out!

Hey, my name is Samantha & I've lived in Wyoming my whole life. I definitly have love for my home state but I'm guilty of wanderlust, I hope to leave within the next year.

I'm looking to meet some people from around the state that are interesting in keeping up some kind of friendship. I do not discriminate against anyone; we can be friends regardless of age, lifestyle, race - whatever.

As for me, I'm 19 & work for an oil company in Big Piney. The money is good, but the hours are long. I graduated last year & have been working since, but I plan to leave the state to go to school soon. I live a pretty outragous life, but I have a lot of fun & I assure you, I'm a wonderful person. I have morals & values and you better believe that I stand by them.

Feel free to check me out & ask me anything. If you think we could be good friends, let me hear from you!

Love & Peace

UW Autism Conference Aug. 19th, 2008 @ 07:26 am
Information that came across my desk this morning that I thought I would share.Collapse )

Autism is something that has or will touch us all at some point. If not in our children, then through our family or friends. I would be willing to bet that most of us know somebody who is Autistic or have family members who are Autistic. It is a very misunderstood condition and one that is seemingly becoming more prevalent.

I have been thinking about it and I really want a western meadowlark tattoo - strong, cheerful, connected with the moon - truely a memory maker in my life

Wyoming how do you decorate your selves?

It has been snowing off and on all day long. Temp would be up there to almost 50 then plummet and the snow would come. UP and down all day long.

I left the plant at 8:40-ish tonight and it was 34 degrees.

What is so amazing about this is that the air was so still (I am 20 miles from town) and quiet. But not quiet.

I could hear frogs.

Early April, it's gonna be colder than a well diggers butt tonight, snow some more, and..

The frogs. I must have stood there listening for almost five minutes.

I love Wyoming.
» Good Show, Democrats!
I often feel like I AM the only Democrat in the state. But the showing of Democrats at the county Caucuses this past weekend confirmed that I just feel like the only Democrat.

Good show to all who came, stood in line, was super patient, and caucused.

And especially good show to all you Obama supporters!
» Friday is your last chance to register to vote in Democratic Caucuses!

It is looking increasingly likely that Wyoming will be one of the final states to decide the winner of the Democratic Primaries!

If you would like to help decide who the Democratic Presidential candidate will be, you have until this Friday, February 22 to register in order to be eligible to participate in the upcoming Wyoming Democratic Caucuses. This includes registered Republicans and Independents who want to caucus for a Democratic candidate, as well as new voters.

Seventeen-year-olds who will be 18 by November 4, 2008 are eligible to participate in the Democratic Caucuses, but they must register by February 22.

Voters can register to vote in the office of the county clerk or town clerk in the county where they live. Click here for a list of Wyoming County Clerk locations and contact information.

The Wyoming Democratic Caucuses are scheduled for March 8 across the state. Find your caucus location and time.

Important Note for all registered Democrats:

If you did not vote in the 2006 general election, or if you have moved to a new address since last registering, you must re-register as a Democrat by February 22 in order to participate in the Wyoming Democratic Caucuses.

Republicans and independents are also welcome to register to vote in the Democratic caucuses, and are free to re-register or change their political affiliation any time after the caucus. They can also vote for Republican candidates in the November election, regardless of their party affiliation.
